Mechanize referral policy
Mechanize pays referral bonuses for candidates who are hired into specific roles. Bonuses are paid within 30 days after the candidate signs and begins employment.

The candidate must enter your email in the “Referred by” field when submitting their application. If multiple people claim the same candidate, the valid referrer is the one whose email appears in the earliest submitted application.
Eligibility Rules
1. One bonus per hire
If multiple referrers submit the same candidate, the bonus goes to the first valid referrer. Priority is determined by the timestamp of the submission form.
2. Eligible roles and location
We are hiring only in the United States, with preference for San Francisco based engineers. The referred candidate must already be authorized to work in the United States.
3. No agencies or professional recruiters
Referrers must be private individuals who are not acting as agencies, recruiters, or staffing firms.
4. No duplicates
A referral is not valid if the candidate is already in our applicant tracking system, has applied to any Mechanize role within the past twelve months, or is already in contact with Mechanize.
5. Candidate consent
You must have the candidate’s permission before sharing their information.
6. Tax requirements
U.S. referrers will receive Form 1099 NEC. A completed W 9 is required before payment. Non U.S. referrers must provide W 8BEN or the local equivalent required by law.
7. Program window
Only referrals submitted before the end of day 2025-12-01 Pacific Time are eligible, unless Mechanize extends the window.
8. Right to modify
Mechanize may amend or end this program at any time before a referred candidate accepts an offer. Payment of a bonus does not create an employment or contractor relationship between Mechanize and the referrer.
